EFFORT Announces Dalziel for the No. 31 Porsche 911 GT3 R
Coming off its inaugural Pirelli World Challenge GT class victory in Toronto, EFFORT Racing announced a new driver for the No. 31 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R. Ryan Dalziel (Scotland) joins EFFORT for this weekend's twin World Challenge races at Mid-Ohio. While from an open wheel background, Dalziel has a strong history of sports car racing with wins at Le Mans, Daytona, Petit Le Mans and a GRAND-AM victory at Mid-Ohio. Dalziel (pronounced De-El) is a native of Scotland but now lives in Windermere, Florida.

GTSport Racing for Kelsey

GTSport Racing announced that beginning with the Mid-Ohio round, the team will race to help Kelsey Flanigan win her battle with Stage 3 Anaplastic Astrocyroma cancer. Like many 23 year olds, Kelsey dreams of seeing the world. She loves entertainment and enjoys singing, acting, stand-up comedy and film. Those that know her describe her as "one of the most laid back, positive people that one will ever meet with a contagious energy." Three days before her 23rd birthday, the Rutger's graduate was told she had a brain tumor. Currently, Kelsey is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation five days a week, six weeks at a time. For the next year she will undergo this treatment regime for six weeks, followed by four weeks of rest.

The team invites the public to join it in supporting Kelsey, the Flanigan family and their journey. Learn more at http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/kelsey-s-fight-against-brain-cancer/162915 .

Porsche Point of View.

Jens Walther, President/CEO, Porsche Motorsport North America
"We are very happy to be coming to Mid-Ohio on the heels of the first North American race win for the Porsche 911 GT3 R two weeks ago at Toronto. The objective for both EFFORT Racing and GTSport, as well as for Porsche Motorsport North America, is to keep that positive momentum for the remainder of the season. Mid-Ohio has traditionally been a good racetrack for Porsche. Therefore, we are hopeful that will continue and we wish our customer teams the best of luck this weekend."

Ryan Dalziel, No. 31 EFFORT Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, GT class
"I am really excited about this opportunity with Effort Racing. I have been watching them this year and it was great to see them get their maiden PWC victory in Toronto at the last race. I am a big fan of World Challenge and Mid-Ohio, so I'm really looking forward to the race. I want to do my best to continue their winning ways and help them in any way I can. I already know a couple of people on the team and have worked with Stefan Pfeiffer (team engineer) for a number of seasons in Prototypes, so I know we will get together quickly with the Porsche."

Jim Taggart, No. 7 Taggart Autosport Porsche 911 GT3 R, GT-A class
"This is my first Pirelli World Challenge event since the opener in St. Pete, but the Absolut Vodka Porsche 911 GT3 R has been busy, especially for the last two weeks. We ran the car at the SCCA Majors event at VIR [Virginia International Raceway] two weeks ago, and then again at the NASA Ultimate Track Car Challenge - sort of a 'run-what-you-brung' race at VIR last week, and the car has turned out to be a fan favorite. Two weeks ago, we set the SCCA GT-2 class record, winning the class and finishing third overall, and last week, we came in second overall, finishing behind an 800hp stock car. We are really ready for the tough competition at Mid-Ohio, and I love driving this Porsche."
